From time to time when you play online poker, a hand comes around that just works for you. This is the first in a series of articles that tell the story of those hands. I will do my best to escape the hand description normal type story. I will also try to explain what I did right and wrong and what my thought process has been throughout the hand.

The first hand of poker online and I will describe is Tc/9h. No. I played in a 27-seat sit 'go on PokerStars. It was a challenge micro buy-in because I am in the beginning of a challenge and bankroll $ 1.00 + $ 0.20 buy-in was all that was permitted by the rules of the challenge. It was the end of the tournament and I head cons "fonceur_AK. Our chip stacks were pretty close. I had just over 17K and it was just above 22K.

Pre-flop, I in the big blind to 800 and the other guy has risen to 2400. I was not too surprised by the increase because we were responsible manner that things become more aggressive. Had there been more players I would probably have folded, but in this situation, I called.

The Flop - When the flop was [8d 5d 7c] I started to get excited a little. With the amount of money in good enough the pot that I wanted to play it as accurately as possible. Slow play was the name of the game so I checked. Fonceur_AK bet 2400 and I called fairly quickly, I probably could have paused a little longer, but ultimately it does not make much difference.

The Turn - BINGO! My Jack hit the turn and the game was on. I checked again and this time he bet 5600. I suppose it might have been right, but it would was lower. Kind would not help him and there was no real chance of a full house. But it lacked something. I waited 20 or 30 seconds and just called.

The River-3C that hit on the river did nothing for him. I thought that another challenge was coming and was happy to see all-in after I checked. Of course I called and was left with a huge chip lead 5:1. A few hands later, I was the winner.

I usually do not play inappropriate connections and probably would not have been in this other place that heads-up or blinds. It forces me to rethink my hands start elsewhere. Of course, adding this these starting hands depending on the individual situation.

So there it is, Anatomy of a hand of poker online: Ten of clubs 9 of Heart.
